Iron Star Ranch is located in the scenic Boston Mountains of
Northwest Arkansas. We have a herd of Savanna goats (fullblood and
percentage) as well as registered Katahdin sheep. Our animals are
raised primarily on native forage with minimal (<10%) use of grain
with no hormones.
Our fullblood Savanna goats are DNA verified and have come from
reputable herds in Iowa, Minnesota and Oklahoma. We have participated
in the USDA Scrapie Program since 2009. We are also participating in the
Kentucky State University Goat Improvement Program led by Dr. Ken
Andries as a method to use performance data to select for higher quality
breeding stock. We also participate in the National Sheep Improvement
Program.
